On Friday, 21st August 2020, the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commissioned the Casa de Ropa Potato Factory in Gomoa Bewadze, in the Central Region.
This project is as a result of the president promised under his Government’s 1-District-1-Factory initiative.
Casa de Ropa Potato Factory has created 1,150 direct and indirect jobs and is engaged in the processing of orange-fleshed sweet potato into a puree, which is processed further into biscuits, bread, crisps and chips, using improved production technology.
The President further inspected ongoing works at the Mumford Landing Beach Site, in Gomoa West, a project which commenced on 16th November 2019, and is expected to be completed in June 2021.
Mumford Landing Beach Site is one of the mini-harbours and landing sites being constructed across the coast, with other locations being Senya Beraku, Dixcove, Elmina, Moree, Winneba, Gomoa Fetteh, Teshie, Keta, and Mumford.
