Benard Oko-Boye, NPP Member of Parliament of Ledzokuku Constituency says the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not only competence but compassion.
Oko-Boye says at the time former President John Mahama was still in power there were some children home not attending school, and the reason was a financial difficulty but, his response is for them to wait till after the infrastructure.
“So if after 30years the infrastructure is not ready what do we do with our children who are home because of financial challenges,” he added.
Oko-Boye noted that “as we speak, we have gotten a leader that is bold enough to take on the double burden. The burden of closing the infrastructure gap and closing the financial issues as well.
“Why would a sick patient change the medicine the is healing them? Would you abandon the doctor whose medicine is healing you and go back to the first doctor who could not treat you? How can you exchange life and death with sleep and lessons? You cannot take the risk,” he submits.
“From where I grew up, we line-up in the morning by a public toilet to defecate. The reason why when I see people openly defecating I don’t call the police (not that I support open defecating) but get close to them and try to provide them with one.”
“Sometimes, when you have been through something in life, you have an understanding of why a man who has dignity would openly defecate. What I’m driving at is the Akufo-Addo’s government has given students the opportunity of a good future,” Oko-Boye Stated.
“Because of our financial problem, my mother had to sell the clothes that she had for over 20/30 years and take out loans to send me to school. If we have a president who has decided to absorbed the fees of over one million people, who told you their parents and families won’t be grateful and support the president?” he asked.
Oko-Boye added that who would have known that he, Oko-Boye would be sitting with the president sharing ideas if not for his mother’s sacrifice. “Many people are walking on the street who are like Oko-Boye, but for money, they will be like me,” he further stated.
“Because of what I have gone through, I say to people that Akufo-Addo has not only competence but compassion and woe unto you if your leader is only knowledgeable but not having a good heart. Why did the man push himself to the extent that he will allow double track so that everybody can have access?”
“The three (3) years of education is what can make the difference between a hustler who is a problem unto himself and society and a gentleman who is the faith and destiny of his country,” he noted.
“We are feeding and standing on testimonies of Akufo-Addo and his governance and not the intentions of the NDC,” he says.
