Ghana Broadcasting Corporation says their channel cannot be reduced as each channel serves different purposes.
In a letter addressed to the National Media Commission, Prof. Amin Alhassan Director-General of the state broadcaster said the Six (6) channels are dedicated 24hours to specific purposes, therefore, none can be taken off.
“GTV: used to deliver to the public service broadcasting, including broadcasts in six (6) Ghanaian languages (Akan, Dagbani, Ga, Nzema, Ewe and Hausa) and the hosting of state live events to all part of the country. Live events from the presidency and parliament are broadcast on this channel,” he noted.
Ghana Broadcasting Corporation currently operates GTV, GBC News, GTV sports+, GBC Obonu, GTV Life and Ghana Learning TV.
