Ban on occupancy in Churches & Mosques lifted with extended worship time to 2 hours

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo

His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Addo has lifted the ban of 25% occupancy in churches and mosques or up to a hundred (100) person per service.

The president has also extended the time of worship from one (1) to two (2) hours.

“In consultation with our church leaders from 1st August 2020, the restriction of the number of the congregates worshipping at a time in the church will be lifted with the length of worship extended to from one (1) to two (2) hours per service,” he stated.

He added that churches must ensure that members wear face masks at all times and the one-metre social distancing rules applied.

He also noted that these same measures apply to the mosques.

“With greater number of congregates likely to return for worship, I will respectively ask the religious leaders to pay even greater attention to the fresh air ventilation of their premises rather than relying on the use of air conditions,” he concluded.
