The Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency Mavis Hawa Koomson has admitted to firing a warning shot at the voter’s registration centre in the constituency.

The Special Development Initiatives Minister noted that none of the men that went to the polling station with her had a gun or any weapon with them.

“My police escort was not with me when I went there, I normally carry a gun with me when I go out without an escort for protection,” she added.

When asked why she fired the warning shot, the Member of Parliament said she fired the warning shot because she feared her people’s lives were in danger, and also to scare the people from other places her opponent had bused to intimidate the people at the registration centre.
