The President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has directed the Minister of Communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to suspend her directive to GBC.
A press statement dated 23 July 2020, signed and issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin said ‘President Akuffo-Addo directs communication minister to suspend GBC DTT directives.”
The statement says: ” The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, on 23rd July 2020, directed the Minister for Communication, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, MP, to suspend the implementation of the directives given to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), in connection with the reduction of GBC channels on the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform, pending further consultation with stakeholders.”
The minister of Communication has directed GBC with a letter dated 26th June 2020, directing them to reduce their operating channel to three (3).
