Addressing the nation in a national broadcast on Sunday [5th of April,2020 ] the president stated that there will be no payment of water bills for the next three months beginning from April, May and June in a bid to lift the economic burden on Ghanaians.
He further stated that, arrangement will be made with both public and private water tankers to supply water free of charge to vulnerable communities to the areas affected by the partial lockdown.
“Furthermore, government will absorb the water bills for all Ghanaians for the next three months, ie, April, May, and June. All water tankers, publicly and privately-owned, are also going to be mobilised to ensure the supply of water to all vulnerable communities,” the President disclosed.
The president advises the populace to maintain the prescribed social distancing as well as practice good hygiene to prevent community spread of the coronavirus.
Also, the citizenry is advised to stay home and only go out to obtain essentials only when necessary. This is a sure way to prevent the spread of the corona virus
