Voters Registration: Data entry clerk and registration officer arrested in Tamale

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two (2) EC official at a voters registration centre in Tamale.

The Ghana Police Service announced the arrest on their social media page. The registration Officials were arrested today, 17th July 2020.

The arrested officials are Mumuni Abilla Yusif, aged 26 and Mohammed Yushaw Kongsoha, aged 32 data entry clerk and registration officer respectively at Kpanshegu Registration cluster in the North East Gonja District in the Savanah region.

Their offence was keeping the Biometric Voter Registration(BVR) kit and registering people at Tamale in the Northern Region.

The police say they were registering people at a non designated registration centre.

They are in custody, assisting with the investigation and will be charged with the appropriate offences and arraigned in Court.
